The Target Headquarters located in Minneapolis is filled with creative minds looking to keep up with the thriving community of online shoppers. They have now come up with a price matching guarantee, promising the lowest prices, a move looking to help Target recover from down sales in the holiday season.
The local based retailer is the second largest discounter in the country behind Walmart; but the online world of shopping is threatening physical stores like Target Walmart and Best Buy. To keep up, many have taken to matching online prices to offer both the cheap prices and the “joy” of physically shopping. Target has joined that trend announcing it would offer customers the guarantee they are just as low as everyone else who’s selling it, even their “big brother” Walmart and the chief online competition, Amazon.
“We believe that our prices are competitive year-round,” Mark Schindele, senior vice president of merchandising operations, said in an interview. “We also know that our guests shop in many ways.”
Many Minnesotan’s call Target home for most of their shopping needs because the the highly successful company was grown in our backyard. It’s nice to see them step up to fight the price war, guaranteeing those faithful to the red logo they are getting the best deals.
